The Epic Hero
Personally, I think the two heros that we have read in the book are pretty similar. First, they both have the same duties, which is save something from bad. For Beowulf, he was trying to save his people by killing the monsters that havedone destructions. For Casie, he tried to save his team from losing to winning. Second, both of them are sort of cocky and arrogant. For Beowulf, he asked his king not to help him, and he was fighting the monster with bare hands and no cloth, which he chose to do that. How can a man fight a monster with no protections at all and nobody helps? Impossible! For Casie, he didn't even swing the bat when the ball passes through him. Also, after he got strikes, he still show the sort of comfortable, self love expression, which justmakes people thinks that he is arrogant. The characteristic of an epic hero is the hero is willing to fight for the other people or group, just like Beowulf and Casie. Even though they fight for the others, doesn't mean that they are good people. So don't think that all epic heros are great or real.
